What grade point average must I have to graduate?
Students must have a 2.0 cumulative grade point average in all course work, a 2.0 grade point average in their major, a 2.0 in their minor if applicable and not more than 25 percent of the semester hours may carry the “D” grade.

Will transfer work count toward my grade point average? 
No, your grade point average will consist only of the course work you have completed at Arkansas Tech.

Will my major and minor be listed on my diploma? 
No, your major and minor are listed only on your transcript.

Will my remedial hours count towards my graduation hours?
No.

How long will it be before I receive my diploma? 
Your diploma will be mailed to your mailing address approximately 8 weeks after you have graduated.

Do I have to pay a graduation/degree audit processing fee?
Yes, after your degree audit and graduation application are received in the Registrar's Office, a $25.00 fee will be charged to your account.

When and where do I need to order my regalia (cap and gown)? 
The Tech bookstore will have a designated week approximately 6-8 weeks before commencement where you can visit with a representative and order graduation announcements, rings, frames and your regalia.  You may also visit their website at http://bookstore.atu.edu to order regalia on-line.

When and where will I pick up my regalia?
Need to check with the bookstore about this.

Will we rehearse for the graduation ceremony?
No, there is not a rehearsal for the graduation ceremony.

Will a photographer be available to take my picture?
Yes, a professional photographer will take your picture as you cross the walkway and shake hands with Dr. Brown.  Proofs will be mailed to your mailing address after graduation and you may purchase pictures then.

I hear the terms receiving double degrees and having a double major.  Aren’t these the same thing?
No, a student will receive double degrees when they have completed an additional 30 hours beyond the hour requirements for their first degree as well as completing the requirements for the second degree.  For double degree, a student must earn 58 hours of course work at 3000-4000 level.  A double major is when a student completes the degree requirements for two degrees, however they do not complete the additional 30 hours beyond the hour requirements for their first degree.

I have a double degree.  Will I participate in commencement twice? 
No, you will need to select which school you would like to walk with and notify the Registrar's Office at the beginning of the term in which you plan to graduate.  However your name will appear in the program under both schools in which you are earning a degree.

I have a double major.  Will I participate in commencement twice? 
No, you will be recognized only in your primary area of study.
